A total of 73 people gathered to set the record for largest group hug in a tent. The huggers ranged in age from 4 to 70 years old. The record was set as part of Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh.

At the Zappos.com Bay to Breakers road race in San Francisco, California, 24 people set a world record for Largest Group Non-Dominant Hand Toast. The group raised a toast drinking Lagunitas beer. 51 members of the Vermont AmeriCorps group came together and recited the AmeriCorps Pledge with at least 26 people in the group standing on one leg. The world record was set at their Annual Statewide Conference in Stowe, Vermont. The AmeriCorps Pledge: "I will get things done for America to make our people safer, smarter, and healthier. I will bring Americans together to strengthen our communities. Faced with apathy, I will take action. Faced with conflict, I will seek common ground. Faced with adversity, I will persevere."
