Group World Records  

This record was set as part of Toyota Prius Records, a two-day event streamed live on the Internet. In a 48-hour period, URDB officials adjudicated 200 Prius-related world records. This was the most records ever documented in a 48-hour window, a world record in and of itself. The event took place in Los Angeles, California on March 30th and 31st, 2011. 349 cancer fighters from the Relay for Life Eastern Division of the American Cancer Society wore purple mustaches. They set the record during their 2014 summit to raise cancer awareness and commit to finish the fight against cancer.

100 representatives from Dockers each performed 100 acts of chivalry on Mother’s Day, 2010. Each individual performed 25 acts an hour for four hours, totaling 10,000 when the day was done. Some of the acts included distributing roses, opening doors, carrying luggage, hailing taxi cabs, offering directions, and greeting mothers. The feat was set simultaneously in New York City and San Francisco.

Josh B. led 21 authors in simultaneously hugging a librarian. They set the record at YA Fest at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Public Library in Easton, Pennsylvania. The authors are Melissa Groeling, Anne Greenwood Brown, Jacqueline Kesller, Jen McConnel, K.M. Walton, Margie Gelbwasser, Amie Borst, Bethanie Borst, Molly Cochran, Radjeep Paulus, Aaron Starmer, Tiffany Schmidt, Alissa Grosso, Josh Berk, Jennifer Murgia, Ellen Jensen Abbott, Cristin Terrill, Kit Grindstaff, David Lubar, Jennifer Hubbard, Jeff Hirsch, and Kimberly Ann Miller.

Wendy, Ali, Josh, and Molly fit 159 balloons in a Jeep Liberty.

Students at the Indu International School inflated a total of 2,414 balloons in 10 minutes. Each balloon had messages and statements regarding environmental issues written on them.

Sapphira, founder of Sapphira's Showgirls, allowed a group of people to pop 82 balloons attached to the burlesque costume she was wearing. She set the record to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week and raise funds for SANE Mental Healthy Charity and Butterfly Conservation. See list of participants here.

Simon and Sawyer juggled a total of nine balls while whistling the Jeopardy! theme song.

Five starting players from the Boys & Girls High School Kangaroos basketball team collectively held 35 basketballs at once. The team, based in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, won the 2010 New York City Boys Basketball Championship. The group set the record on March 18, 2010 in New York City during the taping of a URDB segment on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Corey Henderson served as the witness. #JF04, #lnwjf

Students and members at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville opened 1,134 Pepsi Next cans at once during their school’s men’s soccer match against UW-Milwaukee. They set the record as part of the SIUE Experience as the university welcomes students for the fall semester. Learn more about the feat here.
